Distribution: In our region, this species occurs only in Cameron and Hidalgo Counties of Texas, adjacant to the Mexican border. There are two very old and questionable records from Refugio County and Bexar County, Texas, which if correct probably represent accidential introductions.Legal Status: Smilisca baudinii is listed as a Threatened Species by the State of Texas.
