AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE IN HERPETOLOGICAL PHOTOGRAPHY


During February of each year the Southwestern Center for Herpetological Research presents the Award for Excellence in Herpetological Photography for the prior year. This award consist of a cash award in the amount of $150.00, and a commemorative plaque mounted certificate. 2011 Award for Excellence in Herpetological Photography - Presented to Matthijs Hollanders for his award winning image of a Speckled Kingsnake (Lampropeltis getula holbrooki) found while field herping in Brazoria County, Texas.


2010 Award for Excellence in Herpetological Photography - Presented to Travis Dimler for his award winning image of a Trans-pecos Copperhead (Agkistrodon contortrix pictigaster) feeding on a Tomato Hornworm (Manduca quinquemaculata) in Brewster County, Texas.


2009 Award for Excellence in Herpetological Photography - Presented to Will Wells for his award winning image of an Eastern Collared Lizard (Crotaphytus collaris) from the Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona.


2008 Award for Excellence in Herpetological Photography - Presented to Gary Nafis for his award winning image of a Mexican Treefrog (Smilisca baudinii) from Cameron County, Texas.


2007 Award for Excellence in Herpetological Photography - Presented to Jason Penney for his award winning image of a breeding pair of Arizona Green Toads (Anaxyrus retiformis) from the Tahono O'Odham Indian Reservation in Pima Co., Az.
