06 May 2012

The Southwestern Center for Herpetological Research (SWCHR) is pleased to announce that Matthijs Hollanders' photograph of a Texas Diamond-backed Terrapin (Malaclemys terrapin littoralis) taken while he was conducting a survey of a brackish coastal marsh located in Galveston County, Texas has been selected by our members as our Photo of the Month for April, 2012. Our congratulations to Matthijs on his second Photo of the Month win for 2012.

Having just one of his images selected during the year as a Photo of the Month earns Matthijs a cash award of $25.00 and automatically qualifies him as a nominee in the competition for our 2012 Award for Excellence in Herpetological Photography which will be selected and awarded in February of 2013.
