This section provides a state by state listing of all herpetological taxa that are classified as threatened, endangered, or otherwise protected by either the state or the federal government.

Please bear in mind that some of the state lists may not reflect current taxonomic standings and some may not recognize subspecies. We have listed each taxon exactly as it is listed in the law or administrative order that protects it.
