Distribution:  In our region, this Mexican species is only known to occur with certainty in Cameron County, located in extreme south Texas. There is also an old questionable and unverified record for extreme southeastern Hidalgo County.

Legal Status:  In Texas Drymobius margaritiferus margaritiferus is protected as a Threatened Species.
