Distribution:  This species occurs only in California, along the south Coast Ranges from San Luis Obispo County north to the Bay Area, then northward along the eastern slopes of the north Coast Range to Shasta County, then down the western slopes of the Sierra Nevadas, basically ringing the central valley, but not found in the valley itself.

Legal Status:  This species has no protected status.
