Distribution:  In our region, this species occurs throughout the eastern half of the state of Texas, except for a very narrow strip of brackish coastal marshland extending from Port Lavaca, Texas to the Louisiana border. In this area it is replaced by the Marsh Brownsnake (Storeria dekayi limnetes).

Legal Status:  This species has no protected status.
