Ornate Box Turtle - Terrapene ornata ornata

Distribution:  In our region, this species occurs throughout most of Texas with the exception of the Big Bend Region. It also occurs in extreme eastern New Mexico.

Legal Status:  The Ornate Box Turtle has no protected status in our region.
